Olympic
Park or also known as the Olympiapark in
German. This park was designed for the 1972 Summer
Olympic Games. This park was built to be used even
after the games were long over. The site itself was
used before they decided hold the Olympics here. Local
high schools, and soccer teams still use the site.
This park not only has sport facilities but also has
residential lodging.
You can reach Olympic Park by car,
tours or the underground train system. This site is
close enough to the center of the city. Just look
for signs stating Olympiazenturm. This is the center
of the Olympic Park. It has it’s own stop on
the underground trains. Also if you are taking a bus,
then get off at this stop. The location allows you
find it easily and if you were to ask a local they
could point it right out to you. In the park is a
951 foot television tower on top the Olympia Hill.
You can walk up this hill or take an elevator. Here
you will be able to see far across Munich. Since you
are at a higher elevation, there tends to be a bit
of wind up there.
