History - Munich is a city filled with history.
Munich has been developing since the 12th century.
This lasting city has been through kings, world wars
but yet still continues to grow. This growth can be
seen while exploring the streets. There is an example
of different types of architecture styles, such as
medieval, Roman up to modern styles are through out.

Henry the Lion established Munich on June 14th 1158
By 1214 citizens looked at Munich
as a real city
In 1328 Munich is known as a imperial
city. This imperial power stays there until 1350
For years Munich continued to grow and expand. Each
year more people choose to live here. The population
continues to grow.
Munich is now the capital of the kingdom in 1806
1810 the Oktoberfest is established
By 1818 the Bavaria state writes
its own constitution, where Munich is the capital
King Ludwig I comes into power in 1825.
If you go to Ludwig Street you can view his imperial
residence.
Each year more and more university and theaters relocate
to Munich.
In 1848 Munich is recognized for
the artwork that comes out of the city. By this time
King Max II comes into power. He develops his own
style of architecture and many buildings can be seen
with this style.
In 1864 King Ludwig II takes over
the power.
The electrification of Munich happens in 1882
1901 Munich’s populations has
grown to over 500,000 residents
The Hellabrunn Zoo is established and opened to the
public in 1911
In Burgerbraukeller there is an assassination attempt
on Hitler but it fails in 1939
On April 30th 1945, the American
forces have taken over Munich from the Germans
Munich’s 800th anniversary is in 1958
1972 brings the Summer Olympic Games
to Munich
The Soccer’s World Cup is held in Munich in
1974
1992 The Munich International Airport,
or otherwise known as the Franz Josef Stauss Airport
opens. This allows the world easier access to this
historic city.
