Munich
Airport - The Munich International Airport
is the eighth largest airport in Europe. This may
be one of the few airports where you will look forward
to spending a few hours there. There is enough things
to just do at the airport, just make sure not to miss
your flight home or next destination. There are few
smaller airports in Munich but this airport offers
you the largest range of services. Over twenty five
million travelers use this airport yearly.
In Munich International Airport
you have shopping, a medical clinic, childcare services,
restaurants, historic aircraft, and the list goes
on. In the Visitors Terrace, there is a skywalk. From
here you can check out the runways with a new view.
There is a small café to enjoy a cup of coffee
while you wait. To use this section of the airport
you will have to pay two Euros per person and it is
only open from 10am to 8pm.
The Childcare Centre is known as
the MAC. This was set up from children between the
ages of 3 to 10 years old. The first half an hour
is free. This can be a wonderful place to leave your
child if you need to take care of a problem, or check
in your baggage. Each hour after is only an Euro per
child. They can be contact at +49 089 975 259 98 for
any information. Besides this childcare center, the
airport does offer a playground free of charge. This
can be found in the Visitors Park area. There is also
a movie theater, tours, shopping and restaurants.
The Medical Clinic may be one of
the most unexpected things to find in an airport.
There are travelers who fly in to use the clinic and
then fly back home. They offer inpatient and outpatient
services. If need be you can be transferred into Munich
for a hospital stay. They even have a pharmacy that
can fill prescriptions and sell over the counter medicine.
In the Reisenmarket otherwise known
as the Travel Market, you can find travel agents ready
to assist you if need be. This may be one of the easiest
places to find a travel agent. Some of these companies
specialize in last minute deals. Such as M’Tour
Last Minute. They can be reached at the airport or
by calling 089 972 068 00. Besides the travel agents
you can find all sorts of shopping. Duty free, tobacco
products, shoes, baggage, gifts and toys are all located
here to help you spend whatever time you have in the
airport.
It turns out if you have to have a layover in an
airport, you may be thankful it is here. For once
you don’t have to sit and be bored waiting for
your plane to take off. Munich Airport
is easy to get around in, and has plenty to do for
an entire family.
